The Public Education Fund of Charlottesville- Albemarle is designed to provide financial and other support to the public schools of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. This unique partnership between our two school systems and the community will provide student and teacher opportunities that go beyond the scope of state or federal funding.

With guidance from the superintendents of both Charlottesville and Albemarle County school divisions, the Public Education Fund solicits proposals that will augment, not supplant, public education programs.

Specifically the PEF is looking for programs that will positively impact the following areas:

• Early childhood education
• Student development through mentoring (all ages), and service learning/ internships
   (middle-high school)
• Teacher development, recruitment and retention
• Parental involvement in their children’s education

Proposals should include:
• A completed application
• A project abstract
• A proposal narrative
• A budget outline
• Letter(s) of support from superintendents, principals, or director

Deadline for Proposals:
• Summer2007/Fall2007 Program proposals should be submitted no later than November 11, 2006
• Send proposals to:
