C-Quest
The C-Quest program began in 2000 with support
from the Boys and Girls Club of Charlottesville/Albemarle
at Monticello High School, and continues as
a public-private partnership with funding
from the Public Education Fund of Charlottesville-Albemarle.
C-Quest seeks, with input from teachers and
guidance counselors, to identify high school
students with exceptional promise who would
like to attend four year colleges, and to
assist them in attaining that goal. Those
identified are generally high-achieving, low
income, mostly minority students for whom
exposure to the college application and planning
process, financial aid process, campus visits
and SAT preparation would not be readily available
or explained.
C-Quest operates during regular school hours,
providing these students with a consistent
peer support group with similar goals as well
as guidance and assistance with applying and
choosing a college. As of 2004-2005, C-Quest
had 100% placement rate for its alumni.

Middle
School After-School academic and activity
program
An after-school academic and enrichment
activity program designed to operate in
a school whose students currently are unable
to participate in after-school activities
due its rural location and the transportation
difficulties this poses for parents and
the school system.
Senior Volunteer Program
A program designed to connect seniors and
other volunteers with students in our public
schools. The volunteers participate in a
number of ways including working one on
one with students, working with groups of
students, participating in after-school
or enrichment programs, supporting teachers
and librarians, or other needs that a school
may identify and the program can match a
volunteer to meet.
